Open House Melbourne has won the 2012 Melbourne Award for Contribution to Profile by Community Organisation.

Open House Melbourne is a free weekend event for Melburnians and visitors to learn about and appreciate the architecture, urban design and design excellence of our city.

From globally significant architectural buildings to cutting-edge technological advancements, from roof-top gardens to subterranean infrastructure, Open House Melbourne directly engages the public with the elements that form this great city.

A member of the Open House Worldwide Network, Open House Melbourne provides international exposure for Melbourne, galvanising other Australian cities to launch their own events. In July 2011, the fourth annual Open House Melbourne event attracted more than 106,200 visits across 75 venues.

Open House Melbourne is an initiative of the Committee for Melbourne’s Future Focus Group of 2008. It is staged with the generosity of corporate and government sponsorship and more than 600 volunteers.
