The Sustainable Living Festival is an opportunity for people from all over Melbourne and beyond to come together and educate each other about sustainability.
The festival encourages the sharing of ideas, knowledge, technologies and resources, and provides support to individuals and groups at a local, national and global level. It is also a chance to celebrate a range of achievements in sustainable practices across the wider community.
Recent expansion of the festival into a two-week event has enabled new programs to be developed for specific audiences, such as EcoCity for inner city residents and State of Sustainability for a regional and national audience. High profile international experts such as David Suzuki, Hans-Josef Fell, Nicole Foss and Michael Reynolds have also helped boost the festival’s profile.
More than 125,000 visits were recorded for the 2012 Sustainable Living Festival. As a result of its success, similar events have now kicked-off in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.
