It’s estimated that one in 10 Australians grow up caring for a family member with an illness, disability or addiction. These young carers are one of our community’s most at-risk groups, yet they are often completely overlooked by the health system.
With five key focus areas – identity; health and wellbeing; social connection; education and employment; and financial literacy – Little Dreamers offers support programs that were co-designed with young carers themselves. These programs have been recognised as best-practice by experts around the world, as well as by Queen Elizabeth II.
